How can we create a lasting memory of our day at the gallery? Join artist Mengxia Liu and make museum mementoes inspired by motifs from nature! Hunt for images of flowers and fruits around the Barber, recording the most curious, intriguing forms you can find. Then transform the textures and colours you have seen into an amazing tote bag design. Use printing techniques to create bright, bold patterns, then accessorise your bag with a hand-drawn badge!

About the artist

Mengxia Liuis an artist based in Birmingham. With a focus on illustration, her work blends documenting her surroundings with a narrative approach to sharing stories of communities. Mengxia’s recent collaborators include IKON Gallery, Grand Union, Warwick Arts Centre and Martineau Gardens.

£3 per child with a supporting adult accompanying for free. Limited capacity. Booking is required.

This workshop is for children and their carers to enjoy together, held at the Barber Institute of Fine Arts. We love welcoming families and our friendly Learning and Engagement team will be here to support your visit. Perfect for families with children aged 6-11 years old.
