The Courtauld Gallery is home to one of the world's greatest art collections, located in the magnificent historical setting of Somerset House in Central London.

The Courtauld’s vast collection includes paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture and decorative arts ranging from the Renaissance through to the 20th century.

The gallery is renowned for its remarkable group of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings, including the world-famousA Bar at the Folies Bergèreby Édouard Manet,Self-Portrait with Bandaged Earby Vincent van Gogh and the most significant collection of works by Paul Cézanne in the UK. These masterpieces are displayed in The Courtauld’s spectacularly restored LVMH Great Room – London’s oldest purpose-built exhibition space.

The Blavatnik Fine Rooms, a suite of six galleries spanning the entire second floor of the building, provide a stunning setting for showcasing Botticelli’s large-scaleThe Trinity With Saintsand The Courtauld’s celebrated collection of works by Peter Paul Rubens, among other celebrated works

There are also galleries dedicated to The Courtauld’s important collection of paintings and decorative arts from the Medieval and Early Renaissance periods, and rooms devoted to 20th century art and the Bloomsbury Group.

Alongside its permanent collection, The Courtauld Gallery hosts critically acclaimed temporary exhibitions in its Denise Coates Exhibition Galleries, sharing new insights into the work of significant artists past and present.

The gallery’s activities offer something for everyone, whatever their level of knowledge about art. They draw on The Courtauld’s position as a leading international centre for teaching and research in art history, conservation and curating. From school visits and family events to curator-led talks and short courses exploring fascinating themes, The Courtauld encourages everyone to enjoy and engage with art and its histories.
